Our recent exhibition at the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) was nothing short of extraordinary — a melting pot of ideas, innovation, and immersive travel experiences. As one of the continent's most anticipated tourism gatherings, MKTE brought together key players from across the globe, and Cotis Safaris was honoured to be among them, showcasing our passion for authentic, sustainable travel in East Africa.

Over the course of the week, the expo hall buzzed with energy. From captivating keynote seminars to curated B2B meetings, MKTE was a true testament to Kenya’s growing potential as a global travel destination. One of the major highlights was the emphasis placed on sustainable tourism — a conversation close to our hearts. At Cotis Safaris, we’ve long embraced responsible travel practices that respect local cultures, conserve natural ecosystems, and create lasting benefits for communities. Sustainability isn't just a trend for us — it’s part of our DNA.

It was both a privilege and a learning moment to interact with fellow tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers, and digital storytellers — all unified by a common mission: redefining African travel for a new age. The networking opportunities were invaluable, helping us forge new partnerships that will no doubt enrich the experiences we offer our clients.

Among the memorable moments was the honour of meeting His Excellency President William Ruto, who graced our stand with curiosity and encouragement. We were delighted to share insights into the unique experiences we curate at Cotis Safaris — from wildlife adventures and cultural immersions to our emerging agro-tourism expeditions. His interest in our work reaffirmed our belief in the power of local businesses to shape Kenya’s global tourism footprint.

Balancing the demands of the expo with my daily operations was no small feat. Yet, in the whirlwind of activity, I was reminded of why we do what we do — to tell the story of Kenya and Africa through meaningful, memorable journeys.
